Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Jack Chamberlain Translation Services. By engaging with my services, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Services Offered
I provide German-to-English translation services for a variety of content, including but not limited to business documents, creative works, academic papers, and marketing materials. I do not offer certified translations for legal purposes, such as passports or official certificates.
2. Confidentiality
I am committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your documents and information. All materials provided for translation will be handled securely and will not be shared with third parties without your explicit consent, except as required by law. Any data stored electronically complies with relevant data protection regulations, including GDPR.
3. Turnaround Time
Deadlines will be agreed upon before work commences. Express services are available for urgent projects and may incur an additional fee. While I strive to meet all deadlines, delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, I will communicate promptly to renegotiate delivery terms.
4. Revisions and Quality Assurance
Each project includes one round of revisions to address errors or omissions. Revisions must be requested within 7 days of delivery. Additional revisions or changes due to client preferences rather than errors may incur additional charges.
5. Pricing and Payment
- Pricing is calculated either based on word count or hourly rates, depending on the nature and complexity of the project, as well as turnaround time.
- An estimate will be provided before the project begins.
- Payment is required within 14 days of invoice issuance unless otherwise agreed. For larger projects, a deposit may be required upfront.
- Accepted payment methods will be communicated in the invoice.
Late payments may be subject to additional charges.
6. Cancellation Policy
If you wish to cancel a project after work has begun, you will be charged for the portion of the work completed up to the cancellation date. Refunds are not available for completed translations.
7. Liability
While I take great care to ensure the accuracy of translations, I am not liable for any losses, damages, or consequences arising from the use of translated content. Clients are responsible for reviewing the final translation to ensure it meets their needs before use.
8. Use of AI
I may use AI tools to enhance the efficiency of the translation process. However, all content is meticulously reviewed and refined to ensure accuracy, consistency, and appropriateness by me, a native English speaker.
9. Intellectual Property
The original content remains the property of the client. Ownership of the translated content is transferred to the client upon full payment. I reserve the right to retain copies of translated materials for record-keeping and portfolio purposes unless otherwise requested.
10. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Austria. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of Austrian courts.
11. Changes to Terms
I reserve the right to update these terms and conditions at any time. Clients will be notified of significant changes before they take effect.
